Under 65

Under 65 Health Insurance Coverage

In the United States, most people under age 65 are covered by private health insurance that they or their family members obtain through their employers (referred to as employment-based, or group, coverage).

A smaller number of people buy private health insurance individually (through what is known as the nongroup market).

Nongroup policies are available outside of company groups, through brokers or directly from insurers. Daphne can guide you and find the best policy that will meet your needs and budget.

Insurance is based on age; older people pay higher premiums for health coverage because they typically need more medical care. Also, what state and county you live in makes a difference. People who live in urban areas with many hospitals and health services will pay more than rural clients. For example, people living in Harris County, Texas pay higher premiums because of the famous Texas Medical Center and it’s 54 hospitals. Why is that important? People tend to use more services and testing because they are readily available and accessible. Hence the higher cost to insurance.

Daphne is contracted with many companies, including all the major companies. She can find you the right plan.
